Jesus says, "This is my command: Love each other." Just before saying this, he says, "Greater
love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends."Is he saying that to love each other we must lay our lives down for each other?
This seems like a lot to ask.
I am spending some time today to think through what this means. Do I lay my life down for my friends? Am I willing to do so?
Maybe this is one of the things Jesus was talking about when he said, "narrow is the road that leads to life, and only a few find it."
